Injection with PRF, or Platelet Rich Fibrin, is a minimally-invasive technique used to improve the appearance of the skin, lips and eliminate pain in temporomandibular joint (TMJ). The procedure begins with a small amount of a patient’s blood being drawn from their arm. This blood is then placed into a centrifuge, which separates the platelets from the other components of the blood. The platelets are then injected directly into the area of concern, where they help to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. PRF injections are beneficial because they help to reduce inflammation, regenerate tissue, and smooth out wrinkles. Additionally, they can help to improve the texture, tone and color of the skin, as well as reduce the appearance of scars.
